Using Mobility License Plate Recognition System to target the automobiles which owed overdue taxes

           On August 5, 2019, Pingtung Branch and the Finance and Taxation Bureau of Pingtung County Government implemented the "Mobility License Plate Recognition System" and held the communication meeting of business related to the follow-up of automobiles which owed overdue taxes. The license tax for the automobiles and motorcycles licenses in Pingtung County had expired, the amount of tax owed by the people was over 100,000,000 NTD. In order to improve the efficiency of overdue taxes follow-up, Pingtung Branch and the Finance and Taxation Bureau of Pingtung County Government adopt the approach of "tracing the automobile to find the owner" and used the Mobility License Plate Recognition System to target the automobiles which owed overdue taxes. If the owner refused to pay the taxes owed, then the Branch would detain the automobile immediately.

           After the registration information of the automobiles owed taxes was built, the Mobility License Plate Recognition System would detect the automobiles owed taxes automatically. Pingtung Branch and taxation officers would provide waring to the owner with the polices, and ask him to pay off the total amount owed immediately or agree to the instalment payments, otherwise the automobiles would be detained. In addition, Pingtung Branch will not pass the hospitals or the sites of emergency or accidents. The Branch uses the modern technology to improve the efficiency of overdue taxes follow-up without bothering the people.
