The breastfeeding room of Chiayi Branch, Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice was awarded as the outstanding breastfeeding room in Chiayi City for 2015 from the public places group. One day ago, the deputy director of Chiayi City Health Bureau, Yu-Wei Liao awarded medals and vouchers for Chiayi City Branch, Administrative Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Justice for their efforts with his team. Shih-Hsin Cable Television also went to Chiayi Branch for field interviews.
In the interview, Director Wang stated that the buildings received from Chiayi District Prosecutors Office including the breastfeeding room were very old. All of them needed to be upgraded. Thus, Wang drafted a renovation plan to gain some financial supports from the higher competent authorities in order to provide their colleagues and visitors a comfortable and secured environment for breastfeeding. Profoundly, they hope the relevant public convenience may improve the birthrate and solve some of the related issues. During the renovation period, all of our colleagues strived hard to seek available resources such as inviting students from the department of advertisement at National Hua-Nan Commercial High School to color the wall. This renovation event was very saving and available for the public participation, especially for the students. All of the participants created a warm feeding environment together. Surprisingly, a plain wall could turn into a masterpiece. The picture was composited with a blue sky on the top and green land on the bottom showing a mother taking care of a baby. Additionally, the colleagues installed some comforting and therapeutic items to strengthen the interior design such as small lights with ladybugs patterns, music devices for playing light music, and placing some nursery periodicals. The entire environment became warm because of their hard work.
Director Wang also stated that we won this competition since the design of our breastfeeding room and the interior environment was user-oriented. The contractors and organizers were very considerate and viewed things from users’ angles. Now our colleagues can have a warm environment while visitors can have a comfortable affective nursery room. Wang expected the colleagues and visitors of Chiayi Branch can enjoy the above-discussed public environment and welcomed individuals from other institutions may provide any further feasible suggestions.
