Joint auctions on May 1st saw NT$80 million worth of deals sealed amid never-ending beep sounds. To provide people with more convenient and diversified services, AEA branches across the country now offers mobile payment options, including “Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay (Android Pay) and Taiwan Pay,” in hopes of encouraging the general public to be more actively involved in AEA auctions. In the May 1st joint auctions, crowds of people carried their mobile phones to attend these special events on Labor Day. Auction amount reached NT$80,515,819, marking a new record. Real estate items auctioned off this time included: 14 plots of land in Hsiangpo section in Xindian District, New Taipei City, which the Taipei branch sold for about NT$12,190,000; 7 plots of land in Changlung section in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei City, which the New Taipei City branch sold for about NT$3,360,000; a plot of land in Watzu section in Sanxia District, New Taipei City, for NT$9,720,000; a plot of land in Xinfu section in Luzhu District, Taoyuan City, which the Taoyuan branch sold for about NT$19,470,000; 37 plots of land in Xinjung section in Dahu Township, Miaoli County, which the Hsinchu branch sold for about NT$3,360,000; a plot of land and a building (a commercial building of Top Construction and Development Co.) in Shihtou section in Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City, which the Kaohsiung branch sold for NT$22,350,000. There were more plots of land auctioned off by other AEA branches. Real estate auction amount reached NT$78,348,247, marking an outstanding performance. In addition, movable properties auctioned off by AEA branches around the country reached NT$2,167,572. The Taipei branch auctioned off various kinds of sun glasses, perfume, and Kaoliang liquor for NT$260,000. The Shihlin branch auctioned off tea, brand name women’s clothing and jade jewelry for NT$90,000. The Hsinchu branch saw sports equipment, electrical appliances and audio and video entertainment systems sold off for NT$260,000. The Taichung branch auctioned off a Nissan Tilda sedan and a China Motor mini-truck for about NT$300,000. The Pingtung branch sealed the deal of 3 heavy motorcycles for about NT$70,000. The Ilan branch sold off 5 conventional aboriginal weaving machines for about NT$30,000. Other items on the auction list included ink paintings, pearl earrings, jade pendants, sofa sets, guzhengs (Chinese zithers), electric guitars and others that you can think of. People participating in the auctions were happy about the bargain sales. The auctions also helped the government secure outstanding taxes and fees.
