Year-end clearance sale earned NT$131.22 million for the government. The last joint auctions of 2018 by AEA branches across the country took place at 3 p.m. on Dec. 4. A great variety of items were offered for auction, attracting huge crowds of people. Real estate items and movable properties auctioned off this time fetched NT$131.22 million plus. Also, the New Taipei branch helped the Taiwan New Taipei District Prosecutors Office auction off a Bentley sedan seized by the office for NT$3.9 million. Real estate items auctioned off this time included: lots of land in Zhongshan District that the Taipei branch auctioned off for NT$47.88 million plus; lots of land and buildings in the Sanchong District that the New Taipei branch auctioned off for NT$12.03 million plus; lots of land and buildings in the Hsinwu District that the Taoyuan branch auctioned off for NT$9.79 million plus; lots of land and buildings in the Hsitun District that the Taichung branch auctioned off for NT$40.94 million plus; lots of land and buildings in the Yongkang District that the Tainan branch auctioned off for NT$6.31 million; lots of land and buildings in the Fengshan District that the Kaohsiung branch auctioned off for NT$5.16 million; and lots of land in the Tongkang Township, Pingtung County, which the Pingtung branch auctioned off for NT$2.88 million. The real estate auction amount reached NT$127.71 million, quite a remarkable achievement. In addition, movable properties auctioned off by AEA branches across the country earned NT$3.5 million for the government. The New Taipei branch auctioned off a crystal ball stand, crystal bracelet, necklace and other items for NT$390,000 plus. The Hsinchu branch auctioned off a projector and other items for NT$320,000 plus. The Changhua branch auctioned off tea, sporting goods, and various types of socks for NT$760,000 plus. The Tainan branch auctioned off cars, jadeite and other items for NT$760,000 plus. The Pingtung branch auctioned off cars, scooters and other items for NT$410,000 plus. Items auctioned off by other branches included coral jewelry, jade articles, television sets, computers, stock certificates and others. People participating in the auctions were happy about the bargain sales. The auctions also helped the government secure outstanding taxes and fees.
